Christmas Light-Up Celebration and Charity Buffet Dinner at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Gather your family and friends to usher in the festive vibes on 25 November 2016 at The Fullerton Hotel’s Christmas Light-Up Celebration. At 7.00 p.m., watch our hotel staff come together in a candle-lit march-in to the tune of “The Little Drummer Boy”, performed by handbell ringers from the Ministry of Bellz. Enjoy complimentary festive goodies such as Glühwein (mulled wine), hot chocolate drinks and Christmas cookies as the hotel atrium lights up in brilliant festive glow.

After the Christmas Light-Up Ceremony, join the “Fullerton Chefs for a Cause” Charity Buffet Dinner at Town Restaurant. Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage, will specially don Chef’s Whites instead of a business suit that evening.  Led by Cavaliere Giovanni, the team comprising of Executive Chef Sandro Falbo, Chef de Cuisine Carlo Marengoni and Senior Sous Chef Benedet Paolo, will be stationed at the live pasta station at Town Restaurant. Watch them whip up well-loved Italian classics – Vegan Pumpkin Tortello and Paccheri Di Gragnano in Naples style with Tomato Braised Beef Ragout and Ricotta Cheese Flakes. Guests can also savour a hearty spread consisting of sumptuous Christmas dishes, as well as local and international flavours. The Charity Buffet Dinner on 25 November 2016 is priced at S$98 nett per adult. S$25 nett from each adult dining patron partaking of the Charity Buffet Dinner will be donated to Food from the Heart. S$10 nett from the sale of each limited edition Fullerton Santa Bear will also be donated to the same charity. Donning the traditional Santa costume and hugging a mini snowman, this year’s Fullerton Santa Bear will retail at S$28 nett each at The Fullerton Shop located on the lobby level of The Fullerton Hotel.

To make a reservation for the “Fullerton Chefs for a Cause” Charity Buffet Dinner, please call Town Restaurant at (65) 6877 8128 or email town@fullertonhotel.com.

Local Inspirations, Festive Traditions

Befitting of its rich heritage as Singapore’s 71st National Monument, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore presents a full calendar of activities for lovers of culture, arts, design and heritage. Marvel at uniquely designed Christmas tree decorations handcrafted by Singapore designer Melvin Ong from Desinere as you enter the Grand Dame. Harking back to Fullerton Building’s history as Singapore’s General Post Office, each Christmas tree is decorated with origami birds, representative of homing pigeons delivering letters. For guests who are interested in making one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts, join a handicraft paper pleating workshop conducted by Melvin Ong at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore on 17 December 2016. Each workshop, priced at S$65 nett, allows participants to uncover the art and intricacies of paper folds and forms. The end result is a handmade paper vase - a perfect home display with a spray of floral bloom. To sign up for the workshop or to enquire for more information, visit www.thefullertonheritage.com/whatsnew.

For three days only, from 24 November to 26 November 2016, make plans to purchase unique Christmas gifts from KEEPERS at East Garden Foyer located at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Visit the KEEPERS festive pop-up store displaying distinctive and quality products for gift ideas from 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on 24 November and 26 November, and 11.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on 25 November. From homeware and jewellery to accessories and chocolate, enjoy special deals on 12 well-loved local independent designer brands such as Carrie K, Scene Shang, Acre, Demo Choco, Ling Wu, Queenmark and more. For a full list of designers’ profiles, refer to Annex C.

Usher in the festive vibes with a Christmas music extravaganza presented by critically-acclaimed Singaporean music group - TENG ENSEMBLE on 11 December 2016, 2.30 p.m. at the Grand Stairs of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. The complimentary performance promises to thrill guests with music that embodies Singapore’s diverse heritage presented with eastern and western instruments, infusing both traditional and contemporary sounds. Highlights from the repertoire include “Celebration”, a newly commissioned piece for The Fullerton Heritage and the widely popular “Ave Maria”. Admission is free for all.

Enjoy festive tunes presented by talented handbell ringers from Ministry of Bellz and Christmas carols presented by Hwa Chong Voices choir at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore in the lead up to Christmas and on Christmas Eve and Christmas day itself. For a full list of performance dates and timings, refer to Annex A.

ANNEX C – LIST OF DESIGNERS AT KEEPERS FESTIVE POP-UP STORE

  1. ACRE

Co-founded in 2011 by TY Zheng and Jason Song, ACRE operates from the industrial heartlands of Singapore. We are a multidisciplinary design house focusing on branding, experience, space and product design.

Our methodology melds chaotic exploration and scientific refinement. Every idea proposed needs to pass through our own internal process of cognitive sense and functional aesthetics. This we believe will aid our clients in creating brands that possess cut-through, consistency and consumer recall.

  1. BATU LESANG

Batu Lesung, in the Malay language, refers to a traditional mortar and pestle used in many cultures and cuisines. Inspired by the labour of love that goes into preparing the complex flavours of Southeast Asian cooking, Batu Lesung Spice Company aims to honor the artisanal methods and flavours with only the freshest quality ingredients. Avoiding preservatives, enhancers and fillers, our products are rich and flavourful spice pastes that bring you back to the good old days of home cooked meals.

  1. CARRIE K.

Based in Singapore, CARRIE K. creates playfully provocative artisan-crafted jewellery that challenges traditional notions of what makes something precious and desired. Our jewellery tells stories that celebrate the beauty of imperfection and marvel at the mundane in everyday life. We are a little old school about taking the time and care to handcraft meaningful, covetable, little loves that will be valued for a long time.

We offer affordable luxury for well-heeled and well-travelled women and men. They seek uniqueness and appreciate contemporary design with a sense of humour, combined with traditional quality craftsmanship. Our fans span a range of ages but share a common “joie de vivre” and a strong sense of self.

“Our philosophy is best articulated through the words of Dr Seuss, who said, “I like nonsense- it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope…and that enables you to laugh at all of life’s realities.”

  1. GNOME AND BOW

Stories are the fabric of memory which make life entertaining and unexpected. Fairytales and folklore speak a language that is both universal and immortal, transcending

the barriers of age and culture. GNOME & BOW was founded on that very notion that bags can go beyond functionality to become a new medium for storytelling, evoking the same emotions as our favorite stories.

The Gnome represents that element of fantasy while the Bow symbolises the mark of class. Together, the harmony of these elements guides us in our design philosophy.

Drawing inspiration from the classics to tales of fancy, we develop story elements that are imbued seamlessly into our goods. As with reading a book for the first time, exploring

our products will uncover subtle and clever details that reveal a story you’ll find familiar, but with a modern twist. Timeless as the stories that inspire us, we believe that our bags should be too.

Our collection of bags, wallets and small leather accessories are designed to be the perfect companion for the discerning individual.
