ABSTRACT LANDSCAPES: CONTEMPORARY VIETNAMESE ART

Date  East Garden Foyer, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Date  02 April 2016 - 27 April 2016

Since the open-door policy took place in Vietnam in 1986, developments in Vietnamese art have corresponded to the dynamic changes taking place in the economic, social and political spheres. Artists experimented beyond Realism to adopt and adapt Western art approaches with traditional arts (e.g. lacquer), creating a new form of abstract art that is Vietnamese in nature.

We invite you to step into the world of abstract art by prominent Vietnamese artists. Among them are artists from the Fine Art Association of Ho Chi Minh City, including Nguyen Lam, Buu Chi, Mai Anh Dung, Duong Sen, Nguyen Hong Son and some emerging talents including Mac Hoang Thuong and Vu Hong Nguyen.
