AIRMAIL EXHIBITION: SAINT-EXUPÉRY & LATÉCOÈRE

Date  The Fullerton Heritage Gallery, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Date  04 May 2015 - 01 June 2015

Delve into the world of historical photographs recounting the great adventures of the aviation pioneers of Latécoère - the first French airmail company founded in 1918 by Pierre-Georges Latécoère; the future Aéropostale. Held in partnership with the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Youth Foundation, the exhibition features legendary pilots such as St-Exupéry (author of The Little Prince), Mermoz and Guillaumet brought together by Latécoère in the 1920s; the same period as the construction of The Fullerton Building which was home to Singapore’s General Post Office then. Rare original manuscripts and drawings by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will be displayed during this unique exhibition.

This exhibition is part of the Voilah! Festival organised by Institut Français Singapour and the French Embassy, in collaboration with the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, in celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee and 50 years of friendship between France and Singapore.
