The Fullerton Heritage Celebrates Mother's Day With A Porcelain Art Exhibition And Porcelain Painting Workshop

Date Thursday, April 07, 2016

SINGAPORE, 7 April 2016 – In celebration of Mother’s Day, The Fullerton Heritage partners Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) in organising a Porcelain Art Exhibition and a Porcelain Painting Workshop at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore from 30 April to 30 May 2016. To encourage mother-child bonding, the programme invites them for an afternoon of art appreciation and painting while raising awareness on early detection and prevention of breast cancer through regular checks and screening.

“Poetic Strokes” Art Exhibition
Four talented artists Nana Yong, Ong Gek Hong, Rosemary Oh and Teresa Seow come together to present a curated selection of exquisite porcelain artworks at the East Garden Foyer, located at the lobby level of The Fullerton Hotel. Admire the elegant strokes of unique motifs painted on porcelain. With years of experience in porcelain painting, the artists hope to make a difference to the community by using their passion to raise funds for a charitable cause.

Full proceeds from the sale of artworks will be donated to BCF, to raise awareness on early detection and advocacy in the fight against breast cancer.

Weekend Porcelain Painting Workshops for Charity
Take the opportunity to bond with Mum over a therapeutic 3-hour Porcelain Painting Workshop and learn basic painting techniques on porcelain plates. The weekend workshops are conducted by the artists of “Poetic Strokes”, who have years of experience in teaching painting techniques. Whether it’s a gift for Mum or an avenue for Mum to express her artistry, the porcelain plate will serve as a meaningful ornament for the home, as 40 percent of proceeds from the sale of workshop tickets will be donated to BCF.

Priced at S$78 nett for adults and S$38 nett for children (aged between 6 to 11 years old), the Porcelain Painting Workshop runs at The Fullerton Heritage Gallery every Saturday and Sunday, 2.30pm – 5.30pm, from Saturday 30th April 2016 to Sunday 29th May 2016. Workshop tickets are inclusive of a slice of Cake and Coffee/Tea/Juice at The Courtyard. All painting materials are provided and the finished porcelain plates will be fired and ready for collection the day after the workshop.

Each workshop class is limited to 20 persons and is available for booking at http://fullertonporcelainworkshop.peatix.com.
